Historically Write

"Just because it's written doesn't make it right."

Historically Write is a program started in 2015 by Cheyney McKnight to empower local communities to pressure organizations, institutions, businesses and governments to change, add and/or remove signage or interpretations on historical sites, monuments and tours that present harmful interpretations or do not provide a well rounded historical perspective.  

Action 1- Dr. Marion Sims' Statue in Central Park

Background Story-

Goal- To add signage or an additional statue featuring the women that Dr. Sims experimented on to honor their sacrifice to modern medicine.
